Notes: William Moore was born about 1783 in Leicestershire England. He was a labourer in Middlesex County (London or Nearby)at the time of his arrest. The following is an entry in the Sessions Rolls in the Sessions of Delivery of the Gaol of Newgate in the County of Middlesex, which were held at the Old Bailey. William's trial was held at the Old Bailey,London,on April18th 1798. William Moore, late of the Parish of Hampstead in the County of Middlesex, labourer, on the eighteenth day of March in the 36th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, King of Great Britain,with force and arms at the Parish aforesaid, 1 linen shirt of the value of five shillings, and 1 pair of worsted stockings ,value 2 shillings and sixpence, of the goods and chattels of George Davies, then and there being found, feloniously did steal, take away and carry away against the peace of our said Lord the King, his Crown and Dignity. At his trial, William was sentenced to seven years transportation, arriving in Sydney aboard the "Royal Admiral' on the 20th November 1800 aged 17. His entry in "The Book of Pardons' reads: William Moore, tried London, April 1798,7 years Royal Admiral, November 1800, time expired 1805. Certificate given 24.3.1810 (Renewed 25.9.1823 vide no. 226/109, that having been mutilated and torn up.) His description at the time was: 5ft 1in, sallow, hazel eyes,iron grey hair, from Leicestershire. William married Eleanor Wise at St Johns Church of England, Parramatta, on the 12th April 1813. Eleanor was born in London England about 1785. William married Eleanor Mary Wise, convict "Minstrel" 1812. Eleanor was born in 1785 in London, Greater London, United Kingdom; died on 30 Jun 1862 in Castle Hill, NSW, Australia; was buried on 2 Jul 1862 in Parramatta, NSW, Australia.
