- Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954), Tuesday 22 November 1898, page 5. https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/14186401 PENRITH, Monday. Mr. Charles Mason Marsden, grandson of one of the first Church of England clergymen in Australia, who landed in this colony in 1794, died at Arncliffe on Friday last, and was buried at St, Marys to-day. Deceased was 68 years of age, and resided at St Marys for many years, during which time he was clergyman's warden and trustee of the glebe lands at Penrith and St. Marys. He was also superintendent of the Church of England Sunday school during his stay in the district. He left here some 17 years ago. Deceased was a liberal and generous man in all church matters. The Rev. Samuel Marsden, his grandfather, was the first assislant chaplain in Australia.
