609 Arrived in Sydney 31 of July 1844 on the St Vincent.(free) Departed Cork on the 17/04/1844. Voyage took 105 days. Came on ship with 6 children. Traveled with Georges brother John Paull and his wife Ann Charlotte and there children Maryanne and the twins James and John. Died by drowning while trying to save his son Phillip who also died. In 1844 resided at Pitt Town. George Paull married Lydia Trott in the parish of Lopen, Somerset, in 1831. Soon afterwards they moved to St Helier, Jersey, where George’s family lived. Eight children were born to the couple in St Helier ñ James (1832), Mary Anne (1833), George (1835), Elizabeth (1836), John (1838), Philip (1840), Emma (1842), Charles William (1844). Elizabeth and Emma died as infants. On 31st July 1844, George and Lydia and their six children arrived in Sydney as assisted immigrants aboard the St Vincent. Also on the voyage was George’s brother John with his wife Anne Charlotte and three children, and possibly also their brother Charles. George and family settled at Pitt Town, near Windsor. George was employed as a carpenter and wheelwright by John McDonald of Pitt Town. Within a month of their arrival the baby Charles William died. Two more children were born at Pitt Town, Alfred (1845) and Albert (1846). Tragically George, aged 40, and his son Philip, aged 7, died in a drowning accident in 1847, leaving Lydia with six children to support. Lydia married Gabriel Walden at Scots Church Windsor on 28th October 1851. She died at Burwood in 1889.
