  	Roy enlisted in the Australia Imperial Force on 13 December 1916 and his service number was N60825. It would appear that Roy never actually saw any active service as some weeks after his enlistment his mother took ill and his aunt aquired a doctor's letter stating that if Roy went overseas it would be very detrimental to his mother's health. He was then discharged from service, but I cannot find the actual date.
